WELCOME!
We have been breeding quality ADGA registered Oberhasli, Recorded Grades and the token Alpine (and now Saanens) since 2002 in Central California. Our herd has proven to be very competitive against some of the stiffest competition both at the National and local levels which is evident after garnering 2 ADGA NATIONAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS and a total of THREE NATIONAL CLASS WINS. These awards have all been received at the 2 ADGA National Shows we have exhibited at thus far (Gillette, WY in '07 and Sacramento, CA in '09). Our goal is to one day own and breed an ADGA National Grand Champion. With this as our goal, we impelement a strict culling program in order to improve our herd each year and to keep the herd to a manageable size. Linear appraisal is also implemented every other year to help us fully evaluate our herd and track its progress. Because our herd size is limited, we offer a good amount of both young and mature stock (does and bucks) for sale each year at very reasonable prices. Also, feel free to email us your saleslists or herd brochures as we are always looking to incorporate new genetics into our herd.
Our does are both machine and hand-milked, fed 2-4 lbs of grain a day based on age and stage of production, and offered free choice pasture, minerals, and alfalfa hay. We strive for a doe that is structurally correct, has a functional and productive mammary system, and can reproduce herself - the ultimate dairy goat, in our opinion.
*NEW FOR 2011: The herd is finally going on official milk test and will be utilizing DHI Records. This will serve as one more tool in order to breed better, more productive dairy goats!
The herd once again tested NEGATIVE for CAE in 2010. Herd health if of the utmost importance to us. We recognize the fact that in order for an animal to reach its fullest potential it must be healthy and sound, requiring good management practices. We have definitely improved our management practices since we began our goat endeavor and, as a result, see an improvement in the herd's appearance and productivity.
